Oceania Highlights

A tour of the Islands of Vanuatu are  a must if you like exploring nature at its extreme from treking up to a Volcano or traversing an underground river. Also a must for history buffs with a plethora of WW2  artifacts and relics and some fantastic photographic opportunities.

A visit to Papua New Guinea is an experience of a life time, To see the exotic birds up close is fantastic, Birds of Paradise are incredible.

Seeing the different cultures around the provinces is an experience on its own.  We felt perfectly safe there, the locals looked out for us and all other tourists, but some caution is needed as in many destinations.

Photographic Suggestions

Each area of Oceania has a different people and culture, leading to many photographic opportunities.  People are important in photos of this area, so find out some locals and try out your portrait photography.  Dances and Culture shows create great opportunities – especially if you go to smaller local shows and arrive early while they are getting ready.  Scenery in the islands is also amazing and very varied, from mountains to beaches there is always something different.  Here is where you need to be good at checking settings and changing them as you can go from a dark rainforest to a bright sunny beach and all sorts in between.
