Safety: Brazil does have a high crime rate and regular gang related violence. In general though most tourist areas are very safe. Exercise a normal degree of caution.
Flights are the best way to get around due to the vastness of the country. Uber is regularly available in major cities and cheaper than taxi’s. Trains are virtually non-existent but car hire is easy and readily available.

Weather is Equatorial and Sub Tropical with a lot of rain in the Northern and Central parts. The South tends to be humid and sub tropical, while the Northeast has a semi arid climate.

A layered system with covering for mosquito areas. If doing early morning boat trips a hat and waterproofs are handy as it can be cold.
