New South Wales is a southeastern Australian state with many national parks. Inland are the rugged Blue mountains. NSW is home to Sydney and the world renowned Opera House. The Hunter Valley is home to numerous wineries.  The population of New South Wales is 8 million of which 5.1 million live in the greater Sydney area.
New South Wales has the largest number of National Parks of any state.

TRANSPORT:

Flights from Sydney connect to all major town and international destinations.
Trains run up and down the east coast and this is a scenic way to see the country.
Buses are cheap but slow around major towns.  There are long distance buses for remote travel.

Weather is very changeable can be hot and humid or wet and cold. Coast has distinct seasons with hot summers and cool winters. 26 oC in summer down to 7 oC in winter.

Pack for all seasons. Strong covered shoes recommended for any walking trips. Insect repellent and sunscreen also a good idea.
