Zanzibar is actually a province on the island of Unguja 23 kilometers off the east coast of Tanzania.
Famous for its historical World Heritage Stone Town with its swahili and islamic influences and the birthplace of Freddy Mercury. Surrounded by beaches it is a great place for a relaxing break.
Check out the House of Wonders (a former Sultans Palace) and walk along the waterfront.

Sauti za Busara is the biggest festival.
Lots of music and art festivals.

Weather is Tropical with monsoons, cooler in June to October. Humid in wet  season with average temperature 30C

Packing: 

Layers of natural materials recommended as can get hot.
Camera and Snorkelling gear are a must.Rain Jacket would be handy as it can rain at any time of year.
Golf is also popular with several tournaments so take appropriate clothing if planning a hit.
